The national basic safety technical specifications for textile products will be officially implemented in August 2011. Recently, the National Standardization Administration Committee issued the national standard Announcement No. 2 of 2011, which involves a number of textile related standards. The most interesting is the compulsory textile standard GB national basic safety technical specifications for textile products, which will be implemented from August 1, 2011

compared with the old standard, the new standard has some new changes in both index requirements and test methods. The provisions are clearer and more operable

The implementation of GB 18401 provides a unified technical basis for the production, sale, use and supervision of China's textile products, and plays an important role in effectively protecting the health of China's textile consumers, standardizing the market, and improving the overall level and international competitiveness of China's textile industry

national mandatory standard GB for textiles and clothing, the excerpt is updated as follows (only important parts):

1 Scope: in Chapter 1, GB points out in the scope of application that this standard is also applicable to household textiles

2. Normative references: in Chapter 2, the list of aromatic amines that are not allowed to be decomposed from dyes under reducing conditions in Appendix C of GB is added with 4-aminoazobenzene

3. Terms and definitions: in Chapter 3.3, the definition of GB infant products is updated to:

infants aged 36 months and height 100cm and below (4) control switch failure: textile products worn or used by children; GB infant products: textile products for infants and young children under the age of 24 months

4. Requirements:

requirements: in Table 1 of chapter 5.1, the pH value of GB class B products is 4.0~8.5; The pH value of GB class B products is 4.0~7.5

note b in Table 1 of chapter 5.1 adds that natural color and bleached products, tie dyeing, batik and other traditional hand colored products will not be tested for color fastness

in Chapter 5.2, adding curtain and other hanging decorative products does not require the examination of color fastness to perspiration

5. In Appendix A, GB has added:

a.11 disposable sanitary products

a.12 bags, handbags, shoes, umbrellas, etc.
